This month saw the line up of celebs confirmed for what will be the final DOI tour ever.They are Pop Idol’s Gareth Gates, Hear’Say’s Suzanne Shaw, actress Bonnie Langford, rugby hunk Kyran Bracken and comedian Joe Pasquale.Dean, 55, described the performance as “the end of an era” and revealed that the pair saw it as a “celebration with a hint of sadness”.A triumphant Ray said after his winning performance with professional partner Maria Filippov, 40: “I am absolutely buzzing, over the moon. ”He added that he hoped the series would return one day: “I think it’s got life left in it, definitely.”Hayley, 37, came in second place while Beth, 28, was third.Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye won the first ever series of Dancing On Ice alongside her professional ice skating partner Daniel Whiston, under the watchful eye of judges Robin Cousins, Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner and Karen Kresge.
She also made it to the final of the returners' show in 2014, finishing second to Ray Quinn.
To commemorate the show’s nine-year run presenters Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley also took to the ice for a mini routine, along with the judges.
Dancing On Ice bosses had to create extra audience space because so many former celebrity contestants showed up to watch the final episode.
